AS One Talks- Final Straw Cornwall + The Peloton

As One Talks - February 22nd 2018
Do not miss this! The things Pat has achieved (and is planning) are huge in volume and in terms of deep positive impact. When Pat talks, all you hear is passion, wisdom and an unrelenting drive to make a better world.
Grab your crew and head down to hear the Pat Smith journey - Final Straw Cornwall…
"Born in 1948, (the same year as Tupperware) puts me at 70 this year. I saw the Beatles live in 1963, was 21 when a man stepped onto the moon, wore a Mary Quant PVC mac when I drove my LI 125 Lambretta scooter, became a teacher, married a dairy farmer, had 2 kids, moved to Cornwall to a run down Farm in 1978. Started B&B as we were broke and became a leading light in Farm Tourism after converting the Farm barns.
Sold up at 50, bought a run down chalet park and turned it into the multi award winning business it is today. Have always lived life with energy and passion, am a can do person with masses of self belief who loves the outdoors, cares about the planet and wouldn’t live anywhere else but Cornwall.
I come in many guises ‘End2End Girl, Action Nan, Nanny Pat and Penelope Pitstop to name a few but the names are part of the Adventures I have had in my journey through life.
I have recently founded the Final Straw Cornwall campaign to try and raise awareness of the catastrophic damage we are causing to our oceans from our casual consumption of single use plastic. Acutely aware that my generation have created most of the 88billion tonnes of Plastic produced since 1948 and still existing on the Earth today I feel I have a responsibility to my children and grandchildren to do something about it - Plastic straws being the easy first rung on the ladder and Cornwall a place to achieve their demise!"
